Headteacher Welcome
St Nicholas C of E Primary School in East Challow is a school where children are valued as individuals and are helped to achieve their own personal best. Children are supported in becoming happy, confident and independent young people, who thrive on challenge, and are motivated to learn. Our unique, rural school offers a warm, welcoming, happy and safe environment for children to succeed and flourish.
Mrs Michelle Rooke
Headteacher
I am extremely proud to lead a team that is so committed to support children's well-being, encouraging high standards and providing the very best opportunities for all in our care. Staff, supported by governors, work hard to deliver a rich and challenging curriculum; to prepare children for their future education; and to help them acquire the skills and enthusiasm needed to embrace the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
The children's journey with us starts in The Burrows, our new Nursery, and continues through the school with staff providing a happy, supportive and purposeful environment, and a curriculum that excites and stimulates children’s imaginations and creative thinking.
The school was last inspected by Ofsted in January 2023, when we were judged to be ‘good’ in all of the key areas of inspection, and in our overall effectiveness of provision.
"Pupils are proud to be part of the ‘St Nic’s’ community. They feel happy and safe. Pupils of all ages work and play alongside each other well"
"Trips, visits and first-hand experiences support pupils’ learning."
"Pupils have high aspirations." Ofsted Report, January 2023
Our full Ofsted Report is available on the School’s website.
